David Akin is a Christian concert artist and worship leader from Fayetteville, GA.

35 years ago, on a Wednesday night, while leading praise music on the piano, God spoke to David and led him to quit his job of almost ten years to follow a calling to music ministry full-time. He answered God’s call, and stepped out by faith. This was the the First Chapter. For the first several years David led a solo ministry doing concerts, revivals, and also working with other preaching evangelists. While out on the road, he began to miss his wife and three little boys. David began to realize that if he won the whole world to Jesus and dropped the ball with his wife and three sons, he would have failed the most important thing that God put him on this earth to accomplish.   

One night in a hotel room alone, with tears in his eyes, David asked God to give his family something they could do together to make a difference in this world. His boys began, almost immediately, to love singing and learned to play multiple musical instruments. David’s wife, Lagene, traveled the country at David’s side to help take care of the boys. David could see that God was answering his prayer every day. This began the Second Chapter. For many years now, David’s family, “The Akins”, has traveled around the country singing and preaching the good news of Jesus Christ together. God has truly blessed David Akin with a talented, wonderful family, and it will be a chapter he will cherish for eternity.

Today, David’s oldest son, Davey, is living in Melbourne Florida and will soon be completing his seminary degree. His middle son, Nick, is a Christian music artist and worship leader with a solo music ministry, and his youngest son, Eli, runs an outreach ministry called M25 Barbecue, feeding those in desperate situations.

As David’s family has expanded into new ministries of their own, David has begun the Next Chapter. He is continuing to follow Jesus into a brand-new solo music ministry. He is not only writing new songs, but also planning to re-release many of his older songs that people have loved so much through the years.

MISSION STATEMENT:

It is my desire that all who sit under the sound of my ministry will experience the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from the first note or word until the last. I pray that every song, testimony, story, and message will bring honor and glory to His precious name. I believe that music is a powerful way to draw people to the only One who can change and fulfill their lives. In Psalm 100 the psalmist, David, tells us to “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.” My prayer is that every song I sing will always bring the listener into His holy presence because I believe, with all that is within me, that Jesus is the only true hope, happiness, peace, joy, and love that we can ever hold onto in this world. He’s the only one who can fix us, therefore as long as I have a voice I will praise Him.
